Here is a great way to capture the developmental stage of your child by having their original drawings turned into painting. With my 15 years of being an elementary school art teacher, I learned that young children will express their creativity through their drawings, but when they add color, they will usually paint over the details and the original drawing is hidden. With my own children, I would enlarge their drawings to a canvas, and then paint it. The one shown here is a drawing my own children did when they were only 2 and 4 years old. Today, 9 years later, it is displayed in my living room. This is a wonderful way to remember their young years. Below is an example of the original drawing and the drawing recreated by me.
